PDF Reader: Foxit

I’d bet that all personal computers sport some kind of portable document format (PDF) file reader. Probably the most widerly used is the creator’s company Adobe Acrobat Reader. However, there’s a gazillion of alternatives that do exactly the same thing as the Acrobat with many less requirement from your PC.

Foxit is a reader with a tiny footprint that will allow you to read your pdf files in almost all platforms (it’s also available on portable devices) and will also allow you to highlight points on the document and save it so you can easily focus on the highlighted text after you reload the file.

I absolutely love Foxit. Some people have reported that the print option does not work with specific Hewlett-Packard printers. I tried that myself and run into problems as well. Although the print preview displayed the printout exactly as I would have liked it to print, the final printout only displayed images and headings. The document text was not being printed.

This is all now fixed in the new 3.3 version! Great printing that facilitates printing of two or more pages on one single sheet is a definite plus.
